This is an unfinished American Beech staff that is 71-1/2" tall and varies from 1-1/8" to 2-1/8" in diameter. The root mass occupies an area about 8" by 8" and 5-1/2" high. Beech is a heavy, tough dense wood as compared to Red Maple. Heavier wet and heavier dry. Stronger and stiffer as well. This one is dry and weighs in at 5#2.6ozs. (ufws46)
