Here is a different look at a tree. This is the leader from a birch sapling that has a cluster of five branches and a lower truncated one. It is small in stature, only 44" tall and a scant 1" in diameter. The branches occupy a space about 3-1/2" x 5-1/4" and start 8" from the top. It is still a little fresh but it'll dry out fast. It was peeled with a drawknife so some facets and cambium are present. This would be cosplay only...it would be dangerous and short for a hiking staff. Finish as you see fit.(suws9)
