This is a Red Maple naturally curved walking cane. It is somewhat curved so please check out the pictures. It has no sealer or finish applied so it is an ideal candidate for customizing with a woodburning pen,carving or even ink. It was reduced to a diameter of 1-1/4" to 1-3/8" with a draw-knife from a larger curved sapling. Hence it has the tell-tale facets that have been lightly smoothed by sanding. Unlike the other canes the height would be harder to shorten because the tip has been modified for flat ground contact. I will gladly cut it to your desired height and fit the can tip on again. As it stands now the handle is 34-1/2" tall including the cane tip and the weight transfer path is adequate. Please note the shaft is curved . Being a hardwood it is well suited for most individuals. Alone it weighs 1# 7.2 oz. A rubber cane tip is included.(uc3)
