This is an integral bowl and base hand turned from a Black Cherry burl. The rim of the bowl is various heights due to the live edge of the burl. It demonstrates how the burl grew on the tree, and the burl grain patterns are clearly distinct from the straight grain. Like many of the other burls it is riddled with worm holes. The overall size is about 11-3/4" long x 7" wide. The bowl itself is 5-1/2" outside diameter and is up to 2" deep on the high side. It has been sealed with two coats of oil-based polyurethane.
