This is a hand turned Black Cherry burl egg. The egg is about the size of a backyard chicken egg or comparable to a jumbo store-bought. The burl was from a dead limb and the colors are spectacular. This egg has a little dry rot on the very top as well as some internal checks or bark inclusions. It has been finished with a butcher block conditioner by Howard . It is readily available, food grade and it can be reapplied when needed. The other eggs and the bowl are not included, nor is the ring used to prop the egg upright in a few photos.
