This is a hand turned Maple burl egg with a stand. The egg is about the size of a backyard chicken egg or comparable to a jumbo store-bought. The burl is relatively dark for maple and it has a striking array of tiger stripes and swirls. It has been finished with a butcher block conditioner by Howard . It is readily available, food grade and it can be reapplied when needed.
