This is a small Black Cherry Burl that is suitable for a walking stick or whatever you desire. It was harvested in the fall of 2018. The shank diameter was reduced with a draw knife and the burl was peeled and sanded smooth. It has been sanded and has smooth facets from the draw knife. The shaft is not perfectly straight so the load transfer is a little askew but still functional. There are a few heart checks from drying and there will be a few more undoubtedly. At present it weighs 2lbs. 12.1 oz. The shaft ranges from 7/8" to 1-3/8 and it is 53" long. Cherry burls visually "pop" when you finish them with a oil based finish.
