Here is a 71" tall Black Cherry root staff. It has a pretty simple root structure and a cool old scar on the shaft. Being cherry it'll probably end up with a lot of cracks in it from drying too fast and releasing the internal tension. The top "fork" has a small crack starting as well, possibly from drying or the stress of being uprooted. The shaft on this one ranges in diameter from 1-1/8 up to 2" and it weighs 3#9ozs. It is a raw material that was merely stripped of bark with a drawknife, hence it has a rough hand-hewn look.(ufws398)
