Large wizard staff

$90.00

Here is another "elegant" balsam fir root staff. It's funny how some of the softwood staffs look more flowing and elegant than their hardwood neighbors, and a lot of them weigh next to nothing when fully seasoned. This one stands 71-1/2" tall and the shaft ranges in diameter from 1-1/4" up to 2". The shaft has a cool ridge that is more of an "eruption" from within. I'm guessing there is a little bark inclusion in it but I'm not sure what causes it. At the end of the "ridge" it turns into a crack and it'll probably lengthen as the interior tension is released. All of my staffs are from damaged, choked out trees that I selectively harvest to leave the healthy ones intact. This one is no exception, the one root is hollow because the middle of it was rotten. This one weighs 3#3ozs and it is a raw material for you to customize. The bark was stripped with a drawknife and nothing else has been done to it.(ufws397)
