Here is an odd leaning Black Cherry root staff that might be ideal to hang a lantern from. Being a Black Cherry it has a few splits from drying out too fast, and you can expect more splits once it is totally seasoned and all of the internal tension releases. This one has an odd root mass and the curve barely allows it to ship in my standard 72" x 8" x 8" box. Currently it weighs 3#15ozs and it stands 71" tall. The shaft on this one varies in diameter from 1-3/8" up to 2-3/8". It was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawknife hence it has the hand-hewn look to start your project.(ufws391)
