This staff is a partially dead, but structurally sound, Black Cherry. It sports three chunky toes and a spike. It might be an ideal staff to hang a lantern from, or even a bird cage. On the bottom there is a quick jog that could be turned into a hoof. This one stands 70" tall and it weighs 4#4ozs. It was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawknife, hence it has the hand-hewn look. Being a black cherry that dries too fast yo can expect some splits and cracks to the pith, that's normal for most wood rounds , especially cherry. This is a raw material for you to customize. This one will take stain or sealer differently because there are distinct lines between the living and dead area. These dying saplings are ideal to immortalize. (ufws382)
