Here is a thick, heavy maple staff, not for the faint hearted. It is thick, the shaft is a full 2" up to 3" in diameter and it weighs 6#7ozs. It has been air drying a few months but in all reality it could take a year of more to dry depending on how arid the environment is. It has a cool root array and a "dead eye" just below the roots that represents an old wound. It has cool little bumps and growths, and it even sports a dew claw towards the bottom. It stands 71" tall. This is a raw material that was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawknife, nothing else has been done to it. Please realize it is heavy and you may not want to drag it around for a large event, or maybe you do. It is thick enough for a carving base is that's your specialty. (ufws357)
