Here is a curved root staff that might be ideal to hang a lantern from. It is a hardwood (birch) specimen that stands 70" tall and weighs 3#4oz. The wet bark was stripped off with only a hawkbill knife, so there aren't my typical drawknife marks except where the roots were truncated. The shaft on this one varies in diameter from 1-1/4" up to about 1-3/4" or 2". Please note that it is really curved but it'll still fit in my typical 72" x 8" x 8" box.
