Here is another odd birch root staff. It has a thickened root base and the lumps and dogleg on the shaft have a "muscular" look. This one was wet enough when harvested that I was able to remove the bark without leaving tooling marks for the most part. It stands an inch shy of 6 feet and it weighs 3#7ozs. It is an ideal raw material to customize as you envision. (ufws 353)
