Here is a birch root staff that stands a half inch shy of six feet. It has a cool curved tap root that makes it an ideal candidate to mount a sphere, skull or other large artifact. It was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawknife, hence it has subtle facets and tooling marks everywhere. The shaft on this one ranges from a shy 1-1/2" in diameter up to about 2".
