This is a large hand-turned Maple bowl. It measures 15-3/4" in diameter and 2-1/2" tall. It is made of laminated 3/4" reclaimed maple flooring glued with a waterproof Titebond II wood glue. It has been treated with a butcher block paste that consists of beeswax and mineral oil. It may fade and get "thirsty" just like a wood cutting board does, but you can simply re-apply more paste if it does. I did put a nice depression around the bottom edge so it could be gripped with your fingertips when you carry it full. It would be ideal as a centerpiece for fruits or vegetables. Additionally it could be used inverted as a charcuterie board. On the bottom you'll see I plugged the faceplate mounting holes with Black Walnut plugs. Th reclaimed wood does have some defects but they only effect it visually. There is a slight piece of grin that tore out that is visible in the one picture near my thumb. By itself this bowl weighs 6# 11ozs.
