Here is a Birch staff that was growing on a rock, hence the flat angled top. It stands 71" tall and the staff ranges in diameter from 1-1/4" up to only 1-3/4". There is a slight curve in the overall length and it weigh 2# 6ozs. It has a little hole between two roots where the roots reconnected with each other, as well as a few bumps of root nodes. This was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawknife so it has subtle facets and streaks of cambium left behind. It is a raw material, nothing else has been done to it. (ufws325)
