Knock-down wizard staff

$125.00

Alright, this one is unconventional for sure with a nice cradle for a 400mm sphere (about 4"). The dog ball is just for reference and not included. I didn't think there was any way to ship this one but I was able to add a knock-down joint, the hardware is included. It will ship in a 53" x 9" x 9" box. When the two pieces are assembled it stands 62-1/2" tall. Anything taller and it seemed uncontrollable. At this height if you were to mount a crystal ball it would be a nice level to gaze into it. The shaft on this on varies in diameter from 7/8" up to 1-3/4" and it weighs 3#10ozs. I believe it was a cherry, but I'm not sure because I never marked it before I stripped the bark. The bark was stripped with a drawknife so there are all kinds of tooling marks and cambium left behind. Please note that even though it is cut shorter it is still awkward to walk with. If you mount a crystal ball it'll be even more top-heavy...but it'll be cool. If you look hard at the pics you'll see where the knock-down joint is, it isn't a bad place to grip it as well. You can leave the knock-down joint dry so it can be disassembled in the future BUT if you plan on mounting a heavy artifact on the top I would advise using epoxy or wood glue on the joint when you get it. There is also a slim possibility the joint will become a little loose because natural curves hold a lot of tension. Sometimes they want to straighten out when cut, so gluing the joint would combat this. This is a raw material, do with it as you envision. (ufws317)
