Here is a simple, flat birch root staff that will ship in a 6" girth box so it might be a little cheaper to send. Not all root masses are the same. This one has only three primary roots...it had one smaller one that was dead. The shaft peeled cleanly without a drawknife so there are no tooling marks on it. There are some sharp little natural spikes just under the roots that were little undeveloped root nodes that birches sometimes get. It stands 71" tall, weighs 2#2ozs and the shat varies in diameter from 1" to 1-1/2". It might be a nice choice if you don't want a massive staff that distracts from the rest of your costume.
