Here is another cool birch root staff with a large mass covered in sharp root nodes. I've found a few of these over the years, I would guess it's about a one in twenty occurrence as I harvest birch staffs. The sharp root nodes are reminiscent of the medieval mace weapon, it just has roots as well. It stands over 70" tall and the shaft is a robust diameter starting at 1-3/8" and increasing to 2". Currently it weighs four pounds but it'll drop some moisture weight as it continues to dry. The shaft on this one is smooth with no tooling marks. The wood itself has a few streaks down the shaft that mimic veins, from what I don't know. It has a few twists and curves, and there is a small cradle formed by the roots that might fit a small gem. It barely fits in a 72" x 8" x8" box so the shipping is high. Please remember I can usually fit two in a box for a single shipping rate. (ufws286)
