Here is another heavy, thick Red Maple root staff that would be ideal to display a sphere or possibly even a small animal skull. The dog ball is shown just for a representation of what would fit and is obviously not included. The ball is 4" in diameter, and it could probably display something a little larger. The staff itself stands 71-1/2" tall and the bark was stripped carefully to leave behind the smooth natural look. Not all bark can strip so nicely, it depends on specie, location and time of year and it typically requires a drawknife and gouge. The shaft ranges in diameter from 1-1/4" up to about 2-1/2", so it is a meaty staff. It has two healed wounds on the shaft from past damage, probably from a rodent chewing on it. Like most of the other staffs listed it is a raw material that will ship in an 8" x 8" x 72" box, and yes I can usually fit two in a box for the same postage. (ufws277)
