This is a birch root cane with a nice chunky lump where the tree sends out numerous root nodes. The main root that forms the grip is plenty strong but narrow, hence it would be best suited for someone with a smaller hand or someone who uses it primarily for balance. The grip is about 3/4" wide by 1-1/8" high for a better idea. The lump, which has a few burl "eyes" from the roots is 2" in width and 2-1/2" in width from the other view. It stands 37" tall as is before you trim it for your needs. It is light at only 1#2ozs and it has only been rough sanded. (uc47)
