This is a Balsam Fir root cane blank. It stands 38" tall (as is) and it weighs a pound. It does have a thin, narrow grip but it sports a side root nub that acts as a thumb stop. It is suitable for only right hand use in my opinion. The whole cane varies in diameter from 1-1/8" to 1-1/2". It has only been rough sanded. (uc44)
