This is a Yellow Birch root staff. It stands a half inch shy of six feet and the shaft varies in diameter from 1" up to 1-5/8", hence it is a little thinner than others listed. The head is curved back somewhat, and it would hold about a 60mm sphere pretty well for display as show by the rubber ball (reference only; not included.) Like most of the staffs listed, this is a raw material that was harvested and stripped of bark with a drawknife. It has subtle drawknife facets from the process as well as some cambium left behind.
