This is a red maple cane with a natural curve. It has a small bark inclusion on the grip that was filled with resin to make it smooth. This one seems to seat better in the left hand but it would work on the right. It was harvested and the bark was stripped with a drawnife which leaves subtle facets and nicks like a hand-hewn beam. Once dry it was sanded and finished with three coats of polyurethane. It stands 38" tall and it varies in diameter from 1-1/8" to 1-1/4". It weighs a light 1#3ozs. with the included tip.(fc36)
