Here is a light, strong softwood cane that looks to be Tamarack. The curve is a little open and there is a slight "dog leg" towards the bottom but it still feels solid to lean on. It stands 35-1/4" tall, weighs 1#4oz and varies in diameter from 1"to 1-5/8".(uc23)
