Here is a unique Balsam Fir staff formed out of a severely stunted, deformed tree. It is all one piece, a Balsam Fir sapling with umpteen branches that all originated from the top. The trunk was stripped with a drawknife and the (unstripped) branches were wrapped into ovals and temporarily held with plastic cable ties to form the basket. The cable ties can obviously be replaced (by you) with wraps of decorative wire one at a time or the whole thing will spring open. Use it as a lantern holder, a cage or whatever you can imagine. It stands 6' tall and the basket is about 9" in diameter and 11" tall. It takes a big box so unfortunately the shipping is high. The trunk ranges from 1-5/8" in diameter down to 1". Currently it weighs 2# 9 ozs. but it is still fresh so it'll lose some moisture weight. The branch tips had some needles on them that I singed off with a torch so there is slight charring. (ufws153)
