Here is a large Red Maple staff that stands 5'-11" tall. It is a raw material. Unlike most of my staffs that feature a root ball this one is the top of the tree with four nearly symmetrical branches plus the leader. The branches take up the top 16" of the staff and occupy most of the 8x8 girth of the box it gets shipped in. On an immature red maple the top gets covered with leaves that protrude off short twigs, hence you will see a lot of small branch "nubs" that were cut off. The base is about 1-5/8" in diameter and just below the branches it is about 1-1/4". It was cut,stripped of bark, dried and weighs 2#9.4ozs. (ufws239)
