Adirondack walking stick

Sorry, this item has sold.

This is a Red Maple walking stick made from a "sucker" or watersprout. Its got cool bumps like most "suckers" develop. It almost seems like suckers are more like root stock and the bumps represent root nodes that never developed. A botanist or dendrologist would be the ones to ask. It stands 56" tall and the shaft varies from 1-1/8" up to 1-1/2" in diameter. A few of the flatter areas are up to 2" wide. Beside the cool lumps and bumps it has two girdled areas from past animal damage. It is fitted with a rubber tip as well as a #550 paracord lanyard. The lanyard is a soft double weave that represents 12 or 13' if it ever has to be used for an emergency line. It weighs 2# 4ozs and it has been seasoned, sanded and sealed with two coats of floor polyurethane followed by johnson wax.(S19)
