This is a Black Cherry staff with nice dimensions and thick, even roots. Most root masses have a variety of different sized roots, not like this one. It stands 71-1/2" tall and the shaft ranges from 1-1/4" to 1-5/8". It has a nice crook to hold and a little dimple where an old scar healed over. The roots occupy a volume of about 8" cubed. This was harvested and stripped on 10/21/21 and weighed 2#14ozs. Cherry will get a lot lighter as it dries and it'll typically develop splits as it dries too fast. Like the others this is a raw, fresh material that has only been peeled with a drawknife. Prep it and let it dry before you seal it.(ufws180) Update: this is well seasoned
