This is a Balsam Fir staff with a nice array of roots. It stands 71-1/2" tall and the shaft ranges from 1-1/8" to 1-3/4" in diameter. It has a reaching tap root and a long hair root that I wrapped up when it was fresh and limp. It probably can't be undone without breaking it as it dries out. This was harvested and stripped on 10/21/21 and weighed 3#8ozs. Being a softwood it'll lose substantial moisture weight and it shouldn't be sealed immediately.(ufws179)
