Here is another nice Balsam Fir staff with a cool curvy root. It stands 71" tall and the shaft varies from 1-1/2" in diameter to 2-1/4". The roots on this one occupy an 8" square box and take up about 6" in height. You can see a few slight bark inclusions where the tree was apparently split between the roots and healed over. This one was harvested in August of '21 and 9/15 it weighs 4# 3 ozs for reference. It will lose more moisture weight and shouldn't be sealed until it is fully dry.(ufws140)
