Here is a 75-1/2" tall birch staff which will ship in an 8" square box, which puts it at the USPS limit for a priority parcel. It has a nice root "ball" that is roughly 2-1/2" by 4". This was in well drained, excessively dry soil, hence the bark was tightly adhered, I had to take a carbide burr to the root ball to strip it, but the rest was done with a drawknife and gouge. These roots are tall and they occupy about 12" of an 8" square box. The shaft ranges from 1-1/2" to 2-1/4" in diameter. This is a large staff that was harvested early in September of '21. On the 13th (for reference) it weighs 4# 15 ozs. It will lose probably a thid of this weight in an arid environment, but it'll take multiple months because of the girth. Please let it dry down before you seal it.(ufws142)
