Here is another very light colored Poplar staff with a nice root mass. It stands 71-1/2" tall and the shaft varies from 1-3/4" to 2" in diameter. On the shaft is an elongated knot where a branch protruded at a slow angle. The roots on this one occupy a volume of about 8" by 8" by 9" high. It was harvested and stripped on 8/5/21 and a week later it weighs 4# 7ozs. This will be unbelievably light when it dries out fully. Poplar accepts stain willingly and carves well. Just don't seal it until it is dry. (ufws113) Update: this one is fully dried
