Large wizard staff

Here is a thick, meaty and light Balsam Fir staff. It has a straight staff that varies from 1-3/4" to 2" and it stands 71-1/2" tall. The root mass has a thick array of roots that occupy an 8" square area by 7" high. It has been stripped with a drawknife to remove the bark which contains the sticky pitch. There is a little pitch in the wood itself. You can see in a few pics that the roots looks a little dirty because this pitch collects airborne dust for my breezeway. This staff was harvested on 8/5/21 and a scant month later it weighs 3# 9ozs. It will lose more moisture weight as it dries and feel surprisingly light for the size. Please note it shouldn't be sealed until dry. (ufws131)
