This is a nicely proportioned thick Poplar staff. It stands 71-1/2" tall and the shaft ranges from 1-7/8" to 2-1/2" in diameter. It has array of heavy, angular roots as well as a small rotten root hole to pop a small marble into. It is poplar so it takes stain dark and carves easily. The roots occupy a volume about 8" by 8" by 7" high. It is heavy now because it was harvested and stripped on 8/4/21. Five days later it weighs 5# 11 ozs. for reference. It'll dry down a lot and the weight will be unbelievably light in the end. Do with it as you wish and seal it when it is dry.(ufws108) Update: this one is well seasoned
