Large wizard staff

Here is a simplistic, unfinished lightweight Birch staff with a root ball. It stands 71-1/4" tall and the shaft ranges from 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" in diameter. The roots occupy a volume about 8" by 8" x 3" high and they sot of resemble a bird foot. There is an oddity that was more pronounced when I was stripping the bark. On the bottom there is a very small clump of roots that were dead as well as a small dead branch hole a few inches up the shaft. I suspect this was another seedling that got encapsulated and chocked off by this staff. This staff will dry out to be a nice light staff that isn't cumbersome. It was harvested on 4/24/21 and four days later it weighs 2# 4ozs. It still needs time to dry out before a film finish is applied. It is a raw material and nothing has been done to it short of removing the bark with a drawknife.(ufws49) Update: this is well seasoned
