This is a large, heavy Maple burl bowl with magnificent bark inclusions and contrasting figured grain. The bowl alone weighs 8# 7oz.,is It is 11-3'4" in diameter and 5-3/8" tall. The inside of the bowl is 4" deep. This bowl has many live edges and the bark has been left intact. It is incredible to see how deep the bark grew into the burl. There is bark in a few spots on the bowl that extend through the side wall. It is far from liquid tight. The walls are heavy because the bowl would have many voids and pieces if it was turned any thinner. It has been sealed with two coats of oil based polyurethane. It would make a great centerpiece.
