It’s just seasonal, do I need insulation?

Yes, you do.  For starters, NYS code does not recognize a seasonal dwelling.  You have to achieve the R-values set forth by the code.

Secondly, you can not predict the actual usage the dwelling will see over its lifetime.  Maybe your grandkids will want to use it during the winter.

Lastly, insulation is not only there for heating but also cooling.  Many camps have cathedral ceilings and sleeping lofts.  Without insulation these can become unbearably hot during the summer.  Plus you have to remember this is the Adirondacks.  It can be thirty degrees in July and zero in September.
